2.2

i now have 2.2 on my iPhone 3G and my 2G iPod touch. i just noticed that the app store on these products now shows more information about apps. multiple screenshots are now viewable. the video album art is no longer blurry. since updating to 2.1 back in september, i got used to the artwork looking like that. when i opened videos in 2.2, i was surprised to see that the artwork is now clear again. i tested out google street view and it's awesome.

The blackberry storm is scary

i checked out the blackberry storm at verizon today. I was expecting it to be really cool. i suppose that the design is nice but i was not really impressed the phone. the screen is vibrant but navigating through the interface was so fucked up. i heard that the screen was clickable but what i didnt understand was that the screen is like a mouse button. you have to press down firmly to select something. and when i pressed on a line of text in the browser, the line above or the line below was clicked. the screen is not nearly as responsive as the iphone or LG touch products. long story short, the blackberry storm did not blow me away.

but there is one more thing... new iphone and ipod touch software updates were released today. 2.2 adds some cool new features. but im really sad that the new google maps features are not included in the ipod touch package.

hurry up

i really need to catch up on my gaming. i'm not very far into resistance 2. i wanna play call of duty: world at war. i still have to beat star wars: the force unleashed. i rented the incredible hulk on 360 and i wanna keep playing it. AND lego batman needs some more action. i am so behind in games. but school comes first

Resistance 2

Well, I must say that Resistance 2 is freaking awesome. I played Resistance: Fall of Man in early 2007 and I enjoyed it. It's the only PS3 game that I lust after. The sequel is amazing so far. I immediately started killing chimera like old times. I really like how my fellow soldiers are stronger since the last game. They give me more support in battle.

AL-OOO-MIN-YUM

I got the next gen macbook pro last saturday. I must say, it's pretty sweet. I watched the Buffy reunion and Seth Green made a comment about how British people say "aluminum". And when watching the apple notebook announcement last tuesday, I heard British man Jony Ive say it.

Lakeview Terrace was cool

I really enjoyed Lakeview Terrace. Samuel L. Jackson was awesome as always. I didn't really expect the ending which made me not approve of it. I still give it a stylistic rating nevertheless!!

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Just found out

that Samuel Witwer who acts as Starkiller in The Force Unleashed was born on 10/20/1977. I was also born on 10/20!!! kinda cool.

The Force has definitely been UNLEASHED!!

After months of waiting for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to come out, I snagged my copy plus a free shirt. I will post a picture of the shirt asap. I'm serious, this game is really nice. I've only just begun the 3rd level. The graphics are great. I like being able to throw, grab, choke and all that good stuff. The environments are totally crazy. Throwing a barrel at a door will smash it open. But wait, when the object hits the door, it only damages the door in a certain spot. It's doesn't just automatically create a pathway for the player like other games. You have to work to get it right OR you can use the force to blast the entire door in. I'm sure once I get deeper into the game, my force skills will increase.

My Apple week

I got the 4G nano and the 2G iPod touch. They are awesome. I'm gonna update to 2.1 on my iPhone 3G in a while. 2.1 changes the icons at the top of the screen. The edge "E" and the "3G" are different. That's a nice change.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

2.1 so far

I have one single complaint about 2.1 on my first generation iPod touch. The album art in videos is blurry. Everything is perfect except for the blurry album covers. I really wanna get my hands on the 2nd generation touch and the 4th generation nano.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Apple does its usual routine.

Well since I don't have school for the next 2 days, I can check out the latest Apple stuff. Today they introduced a newly designed nano and ipod touch. I just ordered the touch. I want to get the nano later this week. Also downloading 2.1 for my first generation ipod touch. And 2.1 for the iPhone is coming on friday. Need to start checking the app store for new games and shit

Where's Jack? and the real apple users.....

Nick Long's brother is missing again during another New Orleans hurricane. I'm doing homework right now and I just need to say that some cnet editors are windows fanboys/anti-apple dopes. The mobile phone department doesn't like the iPhone. The music editors choose the iPod touch as a great media monster. They also choose Leopard because of its awesome features and stability. As a cnet power user since 2005, I've noticed how biased they are toward Apple from time to time.

iPhone 2.0.2 + life comments

I am a proud user of iPhone 2.0.1 software. There are outrages about 2.0.2 completely killing iPhones. The issues are about reception, crashing apps, low volume, unusable NATIVE apps, dim screens, etc. I'm holding out until the right time. I got my college books...for free!! There is still one book left to get. I start college on Monday 8/25. Nick Long is doing so much better. Here's an update on my hot list:
1. Sarah Michelle Gellar
2. Miley Cyrus
3. Miranda Cosgrove
4. Lori Loughlin

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Adam update

ok i do not know what's going on. miranda cosgrove just topped my hot list. she can sing, she can act, and she's fine! i like aperture, but i really dont know if i would use it very often. iPhone 2.0.1 software is out. i'm getting teeth pulled tomorrow. i'm getting closer and closer to college. so much stuff to do.

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Summer continues

got a macbook air on monday. still helping with nick long. 2 of his family members are coming to town tomorrow to visit. he's in bad shape. he wont walk and he wont eat. he argues and yells at everybody for no reason. i'm starting to see the alzheimer's in him. college starts on august 25th.

Saturday, July 19, 2008

Lately

I saw The Dark Knight yesterday. The line was huge but I got a great seat. People were really jazzed and things were funny in the theater. Still have iPhone 3G. Moving Nick Long and dealing with Walt's house is really time consuming.

Friday, July 11, 2008

Oh.....and the problems

When I got my iPhone 3G home, I tried to activate it through iTunes and the systems were overloaded. But I was patient and waited almost 4 hours for the shit to calm down. AND my iPod touch cannot be updated right now because the 2.0 software wont come through iTunes. Please let me use my apple stuff!!!

iPhone 3G experiences

I got my hands on the iPhone 3G at 0800 today. I waited from 2100 last night till the long awaited moment. Ryan didnt get the iPhone 3G because he wasnt eligible for an upgrade. He still could have bought the phone but he was too cheap to pay $399. I think deep down, he really doesnt care for anything but his ancient LG CU500. I picked up a black 16GB model for $299. I was the first one in line and I got a lot of attention. I got grilled last night by a guy who claimed to be from CBS 13. As 8:00 neared, some dude from another tv station interviewed me on camera about the phone. Then Adrienne Bankert of KCRA interviewed me. She was nice. People axed me why I'm so loyal. As Michael Laang would say "you don't get it". I've seen the white iPhone 3G and it looks cool. But black is a subtle color. 2 pictures from the event are on flickr

Well isn't that just prime?

I've been thinking. All my life, I've known the name of Optimus. The dude is a hero and a role model. I never watched Transformers in the 80's because I wasn't born yet. But I did watch Beast Wars a lot. Nick Long's apartment got fucked up over the past few days. The manager called and said that they caught some dumbass muthafucka in Nick's empty crib. Someone must have known Nick Long was gone and planned to nest there. The bad guy bounced when someone came in the place and spotted him. Whoever it was left beer, liquid and pill drugs, potato chips, lotion, a del taco bag, sheets, and towels behind. I have many questions. One of my first ones is this: What would Prime do?

Why Wall-E did better than Wanted

That weird robot movie only did well because it is G rated. If it was a movie about killin people, most parents would not let the kiddies go see it. And another reason it made more money than Wanted is because there are SO MANY children nowadays. If these females would just use protection, we would not have all these kids stealing money from the entertainment industry. Wanted is an awesome movie. It has a kleen cast and good elements... and, just look at that face!

The 10 commandments of Optimus Prime

10. Always start a road trip by saying, "Transform, and roll out!"
9. Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost.
8. Be prepared to die for what you believe in, more than once if necessary.
7. There’s a thin line between being a hero and being a memory.
6. Give people a chance. There’s more to them than meets the eye.
5. Don’t bite off more than you can shred.
4. The future is built on dreams. Hang on to them.
3. Danger can't be ignored. It must be conquered.
2. All you need in life is a little energon, and a lot of luck.
1. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings (except Decepticons).

I didn't go see it just for Jolie or Freeman.......well actually I did. But there is 1 word to describe the film. SWEET!!!!! Fox was a good character

i really want to get a gigabyte of HDD storage back on my macbook pro. when i installed new memory, it went from 92.37 to 91.37. people on the apple forums gave me some advice and i'm hoping that it works. i've really been thinking about the future. college is a new arena and getting a job...dang.

Everything I have to pick up like my grad night shirt, graduation tickets and shit is set to be distributed on all these days after May 30th. Damn. Got my cap and gown today. I searched high and low for "The Air I Breathe" today on dvd. A lot of places say the movie is supposed to be released on 5/27. I looked at target, blockbuster. Why disney channel is better than nickelodeon

Disney channel and nickelodeon are the 2 top stations for cool television content for young people. But which is more suitable for kids? Disney Channel!!

I'll first say why I like disney channel better than nickelodeon.
1. Nickelodeon uses weird terms. Like technology terms. We call computer memory RAM. the writers for nickelodeon call it P-RAM??? the term RAM is not copyrighted. these writers try to be cool and make up words based on familiar terms and pieces of technology. Watch an episode of zoey 101 to see what i'm sayin.
2. Nickelodeon dresses their actresses like whores. Almost every girl on nickelodeon is either slowing a lot of cleavage or wearing a skirt that looks like underwear. Dang!
3. jamie spears got pregnant and they still allowing her show to run. She a minor. what kind of example is nickelodeon setting for the kiddies? I know why the show is still on.. RATINGS AND MONEY!!!!!! iCarly is a cool show, but still, the dialogue is crappy.

Now, why Disney Channel is #1.
1. Their performers have talent. Miley Cyrus has an album, Ashley Tisdale has an album. And they are both selling well.
2. The girls are adults. Even though the girls on a few shows dress sort of trampy, at least they are over 18.
No media stuff. Nobody on disney channel ever gets on a magazine cover for being pregnant. Cuz there are no pregnant girls on disney channel. Nickelodeon got a bad rap because jamie spears couldn't keep her legs closed.  Disney channel stars=positive.

disney channel doesn't use fake words and stuff just to be unique. their substance makes them unique.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is 31 today!!

Happy Birthday SMG!!

my adaptation of a sweeney todd song

there's a hole in a school like a great black pit and it's filled with students who are filled with shit and the vermin of the city inhabit it. and its morals aren't worth what a pig could spit and it goes by the name of kennedy high school!

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

this is weird

so i was walking by some bushes. me and my friend stopped to watch something. i looked down and i saw a RAT run out of the bushes and grab a sandwich in a bag. the thing dragged it about 4 inches and ran back into the bush. i came back about 7 minutes later. the bag was ripped and in a different place. got rodents on kennedy grounds.

Monday, April 7, 2008

totally awesful!!!

this is awesome yet awful!

for the first time in my high school career, i did not enter the C building today. both my english class and spanish class moved from the C building to other parts of the school. But both the new classes are old and jacked up!!!

i don't feel alone

for the first time, i know that my family is unique. my cousins and all other people are mac geeks. but they are all in the dark about pricing and timing. they don't know about the discounts that i get. so today when we were all together, people came up to me asking to get discount on computers. nobody even mentioned the iphone or ipods. i do the right thing!

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

big meanie

when i walked into english class today, my teacher looked like he was on the phone. he called me over and said the principal was on the other line. he said that the principal said i have 50 truancies and that if i dont clear them by the end of the day, i'm not graduating. i couldnt believe it. but mccarthy was laughing and then i got the joke. dang dude, it's april 2nd. that was messed up.

Shall we reflect?

I finished my senior project reflection paper. I went and took my sac city assessment. I got some cool black mock turtlenecks so I can dress like my boy steve jobs. Now I need to buy some jeans that actually fit me. I can't believe that I fell into that whole saggy pants thing. It's not my fault, I lost weight so now they don't fit in the leg area.

Easter

What's the deal with the Easter bunny? it teaches little kiddies that hiding things is good. Then next thing parents know, their children are hiding the car keys and stuff. so many made up things to keep the little ones occupied until they are old enough to xerox and buy their own ice cream.... Easter brunch at travis had a lot of meat . let's see, there was fried chicken, ham, lamb, more than 1 form of pork and prime rib. Happy Easter!

Friday, March 21, 2008

It's funny, yet retarded..

Do you ever walk down the street or go into a public place and see someone trying to be hip? You just have to wonder, what is that person's deal.... You can tell when you have encountered one of these outdated people when you see these signs:

1. that person whips out a motorola razr.
2. the person is wearing good clothes, just not popular clothes. Ecko was the coolest shit back in 2004. LRG is the shit now. I laughed when I saw this chinaman decked out in ecko. he thought that he was sooo cool!!
3. the person walks like a ghetto black person and/or wears a hood even when it's not cold or rainy. Those people are just plain sad copycats that want to fit in because they dont know how to think for themselves.

our society as become a race, a race which nobody can win. wearing popular clothes and having popular things are what people use to identify your social status. it's stupid, but it's true. if you have a razr in 2008, you're just late to the game. if you're a timid little asian body wearing a hood for no apparent reason, it shows that you are not only naive but easily influenced by stupid shit. I blame the media!! fitting in with others isn't important anymore. i have never strived to impress anyone. i got an annoying nickname in elementary school. and that nickname is "RICH". i had so many shoes back in the day, it was unreal. my friends would come over to my house like it was a shoe store. they would stand in my garage and offer money for my shoes. then i turned tech geek. i would get a new phone every few months and switch back and forth between handsets when i felt like it. somehow, having more than 1 cell phone is sort of standard now. people carry a phone strictly for messaging and one for calls and digital media.

the point is, in 2008, i don't see people making fun of others about material possessions. i see people making fun of others for other purposes, like weight. but it is sort of funny seeing people using outdated stuff and thinking that they are the hottest shit on the block.

A productive spring break

As of 3/20, i've completed 4 hours of my senior project. yea, i know it doesnt seem like much seeing as i dont have a lot of time left until everything is due. I have everything planned out though, i will get all my stuff done by the time I turn my portfolio in. speaking of senior project, the place that I'm volunteering at is really cool. the people are nice and down to earth. The residents aka patients are cool too. other than that, i've gotten the chance to catch up on my movie watching. silk and atonement were sweet. i'm waiting for some long awaited pictures to come out from a festival.

Was "Silk" TOO silky?

I like Keira Knightley movies, she put on a good accent in this film. This movie had a lot rated XXX scenes. The movie was good but not really worth putting on an iPod or iPhone..

what's kind of odd

since mac os x leopard came out, all macs have been shipping in a new box with the leopard background on it.....except for the macbook pro. when i bought my macbook pro in january, the box had the tiger wallpaper on the box, not leopard. yet the computer runs leopard. but it is apparent that the current macbook pro notebooks with the multi-touch trackpad and upgraded processors have the leopard wallpaper picture on the box. hmmm..

the latest apple news + more

the SDK for the iphone was announced today. although the developer site isn't working at the present time. I want to develop apps and get them to other people using the "app store". that shit will be so kleen. downloading other apps will be cool too. the games using the accelerometer look awesome.

on a less interesting note, i made fried chicken today in cooking class. and the african americans were in a state of bliss. they smothered the chicken in ketchup!!!!!

Trippy

some keys on the latest MacBook Pros are in a different place than the MacBook Pros prior to the upgrade....i'm in the store on a MacBook Pro and the volume keys are switched around. i thought that was kind of odd.

NEW MAC NOTEBOOKS

Apple released better MacBooks and MacBook Pros today.  The changes are under the hood.

  • The MacBooks now have faster processors, bigger hard drives, and better standard features.
  • The MacBook Pro includes multi-touch, better processors, larger hard drives and better standard features.
It's good to see that Apple is now making the lower end models significantly more high end. All prices are the same.

Pardon my rant

this feels like one of those posts where you just have to vent. dont you hate it when you're walking behind someone and they suddenly stop?? UGHH!!!!! now, for apple geeks like myself, dont you go crazy when someone calls the ipod touch the "itouch??? i mean, do you call the ipod nano that inano? some people are just so ignorant.  and to conclude this tyrade, i will share a very common pet peeve... when you say bye to a friend on a friday, and you come back on monday with shorter hair, doesnt it piss you off when they ask you "did you get a haircut?" SHEESH!!

iPod Shuffle

looks like apple has lowered the price of the 1GB shuffle to $50 and is adding a 2GB model soon for $70. Whew...

What road are the kings now taking?

It's bye-bye Bibby

The point guard, a cornerstone in the team's glory years, was not surprised to be traded Saturday.

By Martin McNeal - mmcneal@sacbee.com

Point guard Mike Bibby leaves Sacramento and the Kings on good terms, saying: "I'll always have love for the people in Sacramento, the Maloofs and Geoff (Petrie)."José Luis Villegas / Sacramento Bee file, 2006

It happened to Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic and Doug Christie, and now it has happened to Mike Bibby.

The Kings traded Bibby, the last of the team's stars from its glory years, to Atlanta on Saturday for guards Anthony Johnson and Tyronn Lue, forward-center Lorenzen Wright, forward Shelden Williams and the Hawks' 2008 second-round draft choice.

The Kings waived center Justin Williams and guard Dahntay Jones to make room for the new players.

The reasons behind the deal for the Kings and the Hawks are clear and different. Atlanta is a young team attempting to reach the playoffs for the first time since 1998-99. Sacramento, meanwhile, is trying to clear salary cap space to become a player in the free-agent market as well as increase its ability to make trades. Three of the players acquired by the Kings have expiring contracts. Williams has one year remaining on his contract at $3,395,760 with a team option in 2009-10.

Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie noted that the team did not just acquire expiring contracts.

"We wanted to try and keep the team moving forward, and it's a chance for us to look at a young frontcourt player," Petrie said of the 6-foot-9, 250-pound Williams, the fifth pick of the 2006 NBA draft.

Bibby said he was a bit surprised to hear Atlanta was the destination but not that he was traded.

"I had some good times here in Sacramento," said Bibby, one of the league's better clutch shooters. "Sometimes you need a change, and you never know where that might take you. I just prayed and asked for what might be the best for my family, and this is what happened, so you can't question it.

"I'll always have love for the people in Sacramento, the Maloofs and Geoff."

Bibby and Petrie ran into each other at the Kings' practice facility shortly after the deal received league approval.

Petrie acquired Bibby in a 2001 trade that sent Jason Williams to the Grizzlies .

"I think when times like these come around and you have to trade someone with whom you've had a significant relationship for a long time," Petrie said, "there is a level of nostalgia that goes along with that. Mike was a particularly strong contributor to our efforts here."

Bibby said he also spoke to the Maloofs and thanked them for supporting him over the years.

"I got traded," he said, "but we left on good terms."

Said Petrie: "We talked, and I think we both felt we had a terrific run. I know we appreciated what he did, and he said he felt the same about what we did with regards with him."

The Kings not only acquired Bibby from the Grizzlies but eventually signed him to his current seven-year, $80 million deal.

Petrie also brought Johnson into the league when he made the College of Charleston product the 40th overall pick of the 1997 draft. Former Kings coach Eddie Jordan, now Washington's coach, gave Johnson the opportunity to run the Kings' offense 11 years ago. The 33-year-old now has a chance to do it again.

"I haven't really watched (the Kings) too much this season because Mike was out," said Johnson, who was in his third stint with the Hawks and also has played for New Jersey, Orlando, Cleveland, Dallas and Indiana.

Johnson said having moved aroundmakes this transaction easier to handle.

"Whenever one door closes, another opens up, so I'm going to try and take advantage of the opportunity. I'm going to show up and hoop and do the best I can."

Few people within each organization were willing to discuss the trade talks, in light of a proposed deal between Dallas and New Jersey earlier this week that was put on hold. The Mavericks and Nets would exchange point guards Jason Kidd and Devin Harris as the central figures. However, the trade has not received league approval because of a contract situation involving Dallas swingman Devean George.

Bibby began packing even before the trade was finalized. He left Saturday night for his home in Phoenix but planned to take his physical in Los Angeles, where the Hawks play the Lakers on Tuesday. He'll return to Sacramento on Wednesday, when the Hawks play the Kings in their only visit this season to Arco Arena.

Bibby was a key figure in the Kings' run to the Western Conference finals in 2002.

Sacramento lost to the Lakers in overtime in the deciding seventh game at Arco Arena.

Los Angeles then swept New Jersey in four games for the NBA title.

Some mac newbies are crazy

I was in an apple store yesterday and i'm messin around with a macbook air. and this old motorcycle dude is standing there and asks me how to close a program. i showed him how and we got in this discussion about why he wants to switch to a mac. he hates it when he calls places that deal with PCs and everyone he talks to doesn't speak fluent english or has a really heavy accent. i told him that every time you call apple, you will always be dealing with someone that speaks english. he literally busted out with happiness. he had this elaborate list of papers comparing computer specs. i told him straight up, get a mac. i think i helped him more that the store employees did. an employee later comes up to him and does the usual assistance routine. i buy a laptop case and walk out. he comes out a few minutes later with his helmet in hand. no computer. he kinda looked pissed when he exited..maybe he learned something about apple that wasn't acceptable or something. Blah...i dont care. i got a case that fits my macbook pro now!! JOY

This girl was my mom's boss's daughter's friend. She was a hardcore rider and the horse fell on her and killed her.
